Central County Occupational Center will host an Auto Parts Swap Meet Fundraiser benefiting CCOC’s SkillsUSA Club on October 12 from 6 am to 2 pm, at 760 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose.
Admission is free and a $25 tax deductible donation/fee for those who wish to purchase a spot to sell parts at the swap meet. The swap meet will feature a variety of auto parts such as car parts, race car extras, truck parts, and motorcycle parts. SkillsUSA is a national organization which serves high school and college students enrolled in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations. SkillsUSA provides education experiences for students in leadership and teamwork and helps build self-confidence, professional work attitudes and communication skills.
Many of CCOC’s SkillsUSA club members compete in annual SkillsUSA championships at the Regional, State, and National level. Earlier this year, 38 CCOC students competed in the Regional competition. Nine students received Gold medals at the State competition and five of those students competed in the SkillsUSA National competition in June.
MetroED is the largest career-oriented organization in Santa Clara County comprised of high school and adult career-technical, academic and community programs, which include Central County Occupational Center (CCOC) and the Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP).
MetroED annually provides more than 30,000 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income earning and tax paying contributors to Silicon Valley.
